Earth Day Reedy River Clean-Up Day

April 22 / Downtown Greenville

Monday, April 22nd at 1:00pm
Downtown Greenville
1 N Main Street
Greenville, SC 29601
United States

Event Description:

If everyone would do one thing to improve their impact on the environment every day, our world would be a better place to live in for generations to come.

We need volunteers! Join us April 22nd from 1-4 PM as Entercom Radio & Greenworks Tools in an effort to clean up the Reedy River. We will be collecting and disposing of litter and debris along river’s edge. Trash grabbers, vests, gloves, and trash bags to be provided. Free t-shirt & water bottle for all participants. Email [email protected] for information.

MONDAY LOCATION UPDATE! We will be in downtown Greenville. Volunteers will be parking near Conestee Mill (48 Spanco Dr, Greenville, SC 29605) off of Spanco Drive, which is part of the Lake Conestee Foundation's land. We will meet at the parking lot then go over some logistics as a group before crossing Conestee Rd to go down to the river. It is highly encouraged that you bring waders or boots, wear old clothes that can get dirty & wet, and prepare to get into the river (if you'd like!). It's also good access to the riverbanks if you aren't so keen on getting wet. Participants should also bring a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, etc.
Do your part in helping keep our planet alive and healthy, like:

  • Reduce water use
  • Recycle
  • Maintain an environmentally-friendly temperature at home
  • Use “green” office supplies
  • Reduce use of paper products
