Driver of the No. 17 Fastenal Ford Mustang for Roush Fenway Racing 

  • After blowing a tire with 35 laps to go, Chris Buescher bounced back late to take the checkered flag 17th at Phoenix Raceway – the final stop on the West Coast Swing 
  • Buescher ran a steady race at Auto Club Speedway on March 1 driving his No. 17 Fastenal Mustang to a solid 16th-place finish  
  • Buescher makes his return to Roush Fenway Racing for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season, the team where he got his racing start and was able to bring home Hall of Fame owner Jack Roush’s eighth NASCAR championship in the Xfinity Series in 2015 
  • The Prosper, Texas native, Buescher first joined Roush Fenway Racing as a developmental driver in 2009 and went on to win the 2012 ARCA Menards Series Championship in a partnership with Roulo Brothers Racing 
  • Buescher went on to run a total of 74 races for RFR from 2011 through 2015 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series collecting three wins, 16 top-five and 36 top-10 finishes. Buescher also won the 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship 
  • It was announced back in late September that Buescher would re-join the organization, replacing Ricky Stenhouse Jr in the No. 17 Ford Mustang 
  • Buescher enters 2020 for his sixth overall season at NASCAR’s highest level but his fifth full-time campaign. In 150 career starts heading into the 2020 DAYTONA 500 he has tallied one win, four top-five and 12 top-10 finishes
