And we cannot figure out why

In an interview with The Guardian, Robert Plant made one of the most insane comments we’ve ever read: He thinks his vocals on early Led Zeppelin tracks like “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” were “horrific.” Yes, horrific. The Guardian even notes that he flinched when thinking about his “Babe” vocals. Flinched! As if his vocals are cringe-worthy!

Let’s revisit those vocals, shall we?

Incredible, right? We know there’s that whole notion that “you’re your own harshest critic” and all, but there’s just no way these vocals suck. At the end of the day, if loving Plant’s “horrific” early Zeppelin voice is wrong, we don’t want to be right.

Plant is still cranking out awesome tunes, as seen on his latest release, Carry Fire, which dropped last month—and for the record, these songs are anything but horrific.
