If you haven't had a chance to watch the new HBO miniseries The Defiant Ones, now's the time to grab some popcorn, maybe a drink or two, and skip right down to the link below.

The new four-part documentary series, which began with Part 1 on Sunday, details the seemingly unlikely friendship and partnership between east coast college-dropout-turned-music-executive Jimmy Iovine and west coast rap icon Dr. Dre and their path to signing the most lucrative deal in the history of music—the $3 billion sale of Beats Electronic to Apple Music in 2015.

The entire story is told through archived videos and interviews with not only Jimmy and Dre but also those who know both men well, including Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, and many, many more.

[For a short period, HBO made Part 1 available to stream for FREE. They've since removed the stream. However, you can still watch the entire series by heading to The Defiant Ones page on]

As for the second episode, that one includes not only U2 but also Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty, focusing on Iovine’s fractured relationship with Petty over this song.
