We’re going to guess the first song that probably comes to mind when you think of the Eagles is “Hotel California.” And as popular as the song is, the band isn’t okay with a Baja, Mexico hotel using its name.
According to Billboard, the Eagles are suing the hotel for trademark infringement based on the apparent belief that the hotel is leading guests to think there’s a connection to the band and the hotel. (Spoiler: There is not.)
The hotel’s name and ownership have changed over the years, Billboard reports, but its most recent owners have played the song and sold merchandise that may produce the false idea that this is THE Hotel California from the Eagles’ song.
