7 Artists Releasing Albums in August

Another month, another batch of albums to look forward to!
The album releases set for August will be highlighted by a pair of highly anticipated re-releases of two of the most popular hard rock albums of the 1980s, as well as re-issues from two of rock’s greatest composers.
- Def Leppard: The 30th anniversary set for the band’s wildly successful 4th (studio) album, Hysteria, is coming August 4 in a variety of different configurations. Def Lep fans will have choices ranging from a single remastered disc to the deluxe box set that will have a wealth of bonus material including unreleased songs, live tracks, B-sides, and the like.
- Motley Crue: The Crue will drop a 30th anniversary set, XXX: 30 Years of Girls, Girls, Girls, on August 25, no doubt adding to their continuing legacy.
- Bob Dylan: Reissues of The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, Another Side of Bob Dylan, and Highway 61 Revisited will be released August 18.
- Pete Townshend: Look for reissues of Scoop, Another Scoop, and Scoop 3 on August 18.
- Steve Howe (Yes, Asia, GTR): Fans of Howe will be able to pick up a collection of his work with other groups as well as collaborations from over the years on the upcoming Anthology 2: Groups & Collaborations, due August 11.
- George Thorogood: Thorogood will release Party of One on August 4.
- Quiet Riot: The band will release a new album, Road Rage, on August 4. The album features their newest singer, James Durbin, who previously appeared on American Idol.
